“Great Glory Organization” was established by a group of Chinese Christian immigrant from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Mainland and South East Asia with various professional background. This group wanted to share the true meaning of Christian love among Chinese immigrant community.
The first worship service of this organization was on a Monday evening of mid August 1999, Pastor Abraham Wei – a former famous Taiwanese artist, held this service in his home. Besides pastor
Wei’s Bible teaching, the worship is always included beautiful gospel music prepared by pastor Wei and his wife, its warm family atmosphere and God’s loving spirit are enjoyed by church members every Monday evening.
After 10 years continuing service, in the year of 2007, the Monday meeting was changed to Sunday 10:30 AM. The worship service is still held at Pastor Abraham Wei’s home; the only difference is that a pot-luck lunch was added. This added lunch gathering generated more love sharing and interaction among church member. The organization grew over time. In may 2008, the organization realized it is time to register with government and attract more people to church activities, through the church service to help people from young to old and concentrated on health, mind and soul enhancement. In the year 2008, the organization held 2 major retreat activities, one in summer and one on New Year’s Eve, at the Big Bear Lake and Lake Elsonor resort area respectively. During these two events, many new Christian believers were baptized. A decade later, Great Glory Organization moved in to the new place, a century-old church.
Great Glory Organization wants to help all Chinese immigrants settle into this great country; establishing healthy family relationship with spouse, elderly, children; or sharing Christian’s love with the individuals without family member in this country. Pastor Wei has also received support from pastor Ko of “ Good News Church of LA”, together they will mentor those youth who needs more attention.
During the year of 2008, Pastor Wei and the Organization members also participated in the Christian emergency aid group to China’s earthquake disaster area providing physical, spiritual as well as financial help.
In the year 2009, 2010and beyond, Great Glory Organization plans to provide more activities to the community and expects to have more followers. Currently there are about 40 members joining Sunday worship service, therefore the organization is planning to expand the meeting room and looking for a bigger and more comfortable new location. Our members are lived in 7 surrounding city areas – Cerritos, Acadia, Rowland Heights, Monterey Park, Alhambra, Northridge and Pomona, we have selected a group leader in each area.
Pastor Wei and the organization was successfully held drama show”移民也疯狂” last year in los Angeles county and Beijing, the community responses fervently. A decade later, Great Glory Organization moved in to the new place, a century-old church. More activities will be held in 2017, and prepare to build a Christ Chinese Drama school in the future.
Accordingly, Great Glory Organization qualifies as a charitable and educational organization and should be granted tax exemption under Scetion501(c)(3) of the internal Revenue Code.
